In nomadic communities there is no local access to medical facilites. As we travel we carry with us medicines to treat the most common ailments. Malaria, fever, diarrea, parasites, eye infections, infections. Sidi at left distributes medicines at a nomadic camp to a person trained in the administration of the proper doses. Where there is a school this is often the teacher.
Because of the generosity of our clients on the humanitarion tours of Nomad Adventures, at right Leslie Brian, we distributed 100 kilos of vitamins to three dispensaries and ten nomadic camps. Including our schools where the teacher will give a childrens multivitamin to each student every day.
The region of rich pastureland for the animals is very poor in iron for the people. Many women die in childbirth due to a lack of iron. At left is the orphan left to be raised by her grandmother Nesboune. She has lost two daughters to this same problem. She is raising four orphaned grandchildren. It is because of her, and the generosity of the Brian family, that we were able to distribute 200 bottles of iron supplement.
